    Holiday gift guide 2008

This year, give presents that offer your giftees an experience they won’t forget—or take back to the store.

    By TOC staff

Nature calls: It may be freezing now, but you’ll warm the heart of your favorite outdoorsy pal with these adventurous ideas.
Food networker: Serve up cool kitchen and cooking finds for the aspiring Julia Child in your life.
Tech support: It’s just not the holidays without at least one gift Grandpa doesn’t know how to work.
Flex appeal: These presents will impress the gym rat in your life even more than a new flavor of Gatorade.
Sky’s the limit: Take an architecture-lover places she’s never been.
Go go gadgets: Instead of splurging on one big trip, give them gifts that support all of their travels.
From “aah” to Zen: Your pal wishes he could live at the spa, so indulge him with goodies that’ll convince him he actually does.
Bottle royale: Titillate an oenophile’s palate with a class or glass accoutrement.
Market value: You won’t have to check your list twice after hitting up these one-stop shops and surprisingly stocked stores.
Keeping up appearances: TOC staffers debate the proper way to package a present: wrapping paper or gift bag?
Gifts that keep on hinting: Jacked-up teeth, chronic tardiness, shocking ignorance—your friends and family have problems, but these presents offer a friendly way to send the message.
Sweet Jesus: TOC staffers reveal their sometimes cute, sometimes bizarre family gift-giving traditions. Christ cake, anyone?
Editors’ wish lists: Find out what’s on the minds of TOC’s writers this holiday season.

Does anyone you know love plants, nature or gardens? Ever see a plant move when you tickle it? The TickleMe Plant grows year round indoors, closes its leaves and lowers its branches when it is tickled. It is an easy flowering plant to grow in its own TickleMe Plant Greenhouse. When I first saw it move I was startled and amazed. You’ll love seeing the big smile on the face of the person who sees the plant move for the first time visit http://www.ticklemeplant.com for growing kits and information.
